Piazzale Michelangelo was built in 1869. The plaza is an open space and in the middle, you can find a bronze statute. You may find the square to be a bit underwhelming. However from there, you can enjoy excellent view of the city of Florence due to its height.
You will find that all buildings in Florence all have red roof. The few more spectacular structure includes include Piazza della Signoria, Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore and Ponte Vecchio, and you can see all of them from this place. Sunset is the best time to enjoy great views of the city from here. The sunlight is being shown on the red roof at sunset and in the evening, you will enjoy great view of the city when candles and lights are lighted up.
You can enjoy excellent view from here. Of course, a coffee shop must open in this area where you can enjoy great view in its alfresco setting.
